ITA / manifestazione continua | the ongoing protest è un'istallazione in divenire che è iniziata il primo di settembre e si concluderà il 31 dicembre 2020. Ogni giorno che mi reco in studio porto con me un personaggio di plastica che regge un cartello con un motto o slogan. I personaggi di plastica sono i miei. I cartelli sono riproduzioni in miniatura di una selezione di cartelli da me fotografati durante la partecipazione a varie manifestazioni dal 2015 ad oggi.

Durante il lockdown mi trovavo a Berlino e per alcuni mesi le manifestazioni sono state proibite. A seguito del divieto, le strade di Neukölln e Kreuzberg (i quartieri in cui mi sono mossa durante il periodo) si sono riempite di cartelli, banner, manifesti di protesta sulle facciate delle case, alle finestre e sui balconi. Anche se tutt* erano più o meno costretti a restare a casa, molte persone non hanno rinunciato a manifestare il loro dissenso o il loro sostegno alle lotte in corso - che in alcuni casi si sono anche inasprite a causa della pandemia stessa.

Non poter essere fisicamente per strada, non poter occupare uno spazio fisico con il proprio corpo fuori casa, mi ha ricordato una protesta avvenuta in Russia nel 2012, dove a causa del divieto di manifestare, e per aggirare tale divieto, i manifestanti reali sono stati sostituiti da personaggi lego e altri pupazzetti.I cartelli sono riproduzioni cartelli da me fotografati in varie dimostrazioni, portati in realtà da persone diverse (che non sono io).

I personaggini non vogliono rappresentare persone reali, ma sono solo un modo per trasmettere messaggi di protesta. Quelli mostrati sono una selezione (non esau- stiva) dei messaggi da me fotografati durante le manifestazioni - anche perché ho deciso di esporre solo quei cartelli che io stessa, per il mio po- sizionamento, potrei portare in una manifestazione.

I personaggi stessi sono quelli con cui ho giocato da bambino e per loro natura possono essere problematici. I giochi prodotti negli anni '70 -'80 (fino ad oggi) riflettono una visione mainstream, che a volte riproduce stereotipi e luoghi comuni sul genere. In questo caso ho deciso di utilizzare solo i personaggi che potrebbero essere classificati come "femminili", anche per esemplificare un ampio catalogo di stereotipi di genere che questi pupazzi incarnano.

Questo è un lavoro in corso, molte domande sono aperte.

ENG / manifestazione continua | the ongoing protest is an installation in pro- gress that starts on September 1st and will end on December 31st 2020. Every day that I go to the studio I take with me a plastic character holding a sign with a motto connected to some of the ongoing struggles. The plastic characters are the ones I played with as a child. The signs are miniature reproductions of signs I photographed during my participation in various protests from 2015 to today.

I was in Berlin during the lockdown. For some months the demonstrations were prohibited. As a result of the ban, the streets of Neukölln and Kreuz- berg (the neighborhoods I moved into during the period) were filled with protest signs, on walls, house facades, windows and balconies. Even if everyone was more or less forced to stay at home, many people did not give up showing dissent or support for ongoing struggles that in some cas- es have also intensified due to the pandemic.

Not being able to be physically on the street, not being able to occupy a physical space with the body outside one's home, reminded me of a protest that occurred in Russia in 2012, where the demonstrators were replaced by lego characters and various puppets in an attempt to circumvent the ban on demonstrating.The signs are reproductions of signs photographed by me in various dem- onstrations, actually carried by different people (which is not me).

The plastic puppets don't represent real people, they are just a way to convey mes- sages of protest. The signs shown are a (not exhaustive) selection of the messages I photographed during different demonstrations - because I de- cided to display only those signs that I myself, due to my positioning, could bring to a demonstration.

The characters themselves are the ones I played with as a child, and by their nature they can be problematic themselves. Games produced in the 70s-80s (till today) reflect a mainstream vision, which sometimes repro- duces stereotypes and clichés about gender. In this case I decided to use only the characters that could be categorized as "female", also to exemplify a large catalog of gender stereotypes that these puppets embody.

This is a work in progress, a lot of question are open.
