science fiction anthology Needle-work on flax, embroidered by hand,120 x 340 cm, 2003. The last day that I was in Milan, before coming to Paris, I gave a party for my friends to say good-bye. I asked to all of them to think about a science fiction tale and then to imagine how to summarize it as a series of drawings. During the evening they drew their tale on a piece of cloth. My friends had made for me a science fiction anthology and consequently I made an anthology of my friends, like a book for a journey. |

les histoires des récollets
During the last month that I was in Paris I asked to my neighbors (Amal Saad, Alexia Dafni, Giorgios Papadatos, Elia Mangia, Donatella Spaziani) to imagine a tale that could be happen or is still happening in the Recollets center. They drew the tales for me on a piece of cloth. Then I needled their drawings. The recollets centre has an interesting and dramatic history, and that history is still present in the edifice. First it was a convent, then a military hospital, then an architecture school, a squatter place and at last it was set on fire. Now it is a centre for exchange and a cultural meeting. |
